It's the spring of freshman year, and Kanji Sasahara is in a quandary. Should he fulfill his long-cherished dream of joining an otaku club? Saki Kasukabe also faces a dilemma. The first nine volumes of Genshiken were published as Genshiken: The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture by Del Rey Manga from April 26, 2005, to November 27, 2007. Kodansha USA picked up the license and published the series from volume 10 onwards as Genshiken: Second Season from September 4, 2012, to March 13, 2018. The previous nine volumes were republished as 3-in-1 omnibus volumes. The first nine volumes were also released in Brazilian Portuguese by Editora JBC from June 2013 to May 2014.
