Honzuki no Gekokujou: Hannelore no Kizokuin Gonensei began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou on April 28, 2017. TO Books has released a revised and illustrated version of the series since August 10, 2024, under its TO Books Ranobe label. The series has been published digitally in English as Ascendance of a Bookworm: Hannelore's Fifth Year at the Royal Academy by J-Novel Club since May 23, 2025.
